Dr Emrah Ali Karakilic

I am a lecturer in the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology and Programme Director of Management and Digital Technologies BSc (Hons). I hold a PhD in sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Research Interests
My research programme is as interdisciplinary as my educational background, spanning critical political economy, continental philosophy, and organisation studies,. In particular, it interrogates the evolving nature of capitalism with a dedicated focus on technological change, the politics of production, and the relationship between human subjectivity and socio-economic structures. Since my appointment at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥, I have extended this programme to the futures of AI across work, organisations, and society, a direction that carries my dedicated critical approach into emerging questions of urgent public significance.
External Roles
I was book review editor of (2022¨C2026) and remain a member of its editorial board. I also served as an editor for the open-access press (2021¨C2025).
PhD Supervision Interests
Dr Karakilic welcomes the opportunity to supervise doctoral research students whose interests align with his areas of expertise.
